Adaptive Aquatics Classes
All swimming levels: ages 2yrs.-adult
Our Adaptive Aquatics program is exactly what it says, Adaptive! Regardless of you student’s disability, all of our Adaptive Lessons are completely individualized for each student. We use the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim curriculum as our framework for instruction, but each student’s program is individualized to meet their needs. Most of our first time swimmers begin with a survival based program where they learn critical safety and survival such as swimming independently, floating, and treading water. Our more experienced swimmers can begin with adaptive stroke instruction, swim team, or fitness classes improving their motor planning, coordination, and efficiency in the water. Whatever the level of your student, we can design a program to meet their individual needs.
** Private, Semi-Private, Small Group, and Inclusive Group options available. Contact us to schedule a free evaluation to see what is the best fit for your student.
Adaptive Swim Team
We hold Adaptive Swim team classes at each of our locations for swimmers who are ready to take their skills to the next level. These are group classes with a 4:1 student teacher ratio where students work on all 4 competitive strokes, endurance, speed, and teamwork. Students must be evaluated prior to enrolling in this class. Prerequisites include being able to work in a small group with minimal support and being able to swim the length of the pool on your front and back with minimal assistance. Our Adaptive Swim Team competes 2x’s per year at our Bi-Annual Swim Meet.
Bi-Annual Adaptive Swim Meet
Every July and February Neverland holds an Adaptive Swim Meet for all our students to show off their hard work for friends and family. All swimmers are welcome to participate in the meet and will receive ribbons each race they compete in. This is always an incredible experience that you will not want to miss out on. The whole community gets involved trough volunteering and sponsorships while we focus on highlighting the achievements of our swimmers.
